We present the current version of the Metropolitan Plan, with incorporated comments from the public and city districts. Why is it important for Prague? It is a flexible framework for managing the city’s development in the 21st century. It concerns everyone who lives in Prague or commutes to the city. It sets clear boundaries for where Prague is to grow and where nature is to be preserved. Within these boundaries, it will simplify the planning process, thereby speeding up construction. It develops individual localities according to the ideas of the local people. It places emphasis on quality public space, streets, squares and parks. It leads to the creation of neighbourhoods where people have everything they need. It promotes the faster development of housing and transport infrastructure. It establishes a fair environment for developers with a contribution to public amenities.
